101 in 1001 days

I have lost count of the times that I have started the 101 in 1001 days challenge and then either forgotten about it or just restarted it. Started it yet again at the beginning of 2018, but because I’ve changed so much in the past year and reading through it with the impending new year it just didn’t fit with me anyone.

It was more of a case of being obsessed with changing me instead of just being me and instead of growing my reach wanting quick fixes without actually doing the work. No I didn’t buy followers or anything like that but I was so crazed about numbers I lost the interaction I used to pride myself on. This list is more a reflection of me after a tough year, work and family wise.

Therapy has helped and so has realising change in body shape and more followers will not make me a more happier and fulfilled  person.  It’s only taken me 39 years to get on board with this.  Maybe 40 looming upon me has made me feel differently and for the record the big 40 doesn’t bother me.  But wasting my time does.

Start: Monday 1st January 2019
End: Monday 28th September 2021

The Mission

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined.
Tasks must also be realistic and challenging.

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

Stay focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

Welcome failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

I’m crafting my own list now, and happened to stumble on yours when I was trying to do the math for how long 1001 days was. 🙂
    Good luck with your goals!
