TEN THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

Because I’m Happy.

A couple of months ago I was tagged by the lovely Katie at Heels & Hooves you can read her post here.

Discharged from therapy I am feeling really good with life. So I feel now is the perfect time to write a post along these lines. It also doesn’t hurt to remind you of the things you should be grateful for in life, and what makes you happy.

My Daughter Amelia

Even on the days that she has me tearing my hair out, she is one of the best things I ever did with my life. The day she was born was amazing.  I felt overwhelmed with a strong love for her, it was like pain what pain.  I would go through this everyday if I had to, she was so worth it. Just when I think I couldn’t be more proud of her and love her more, she surprises me.

My Husband Sascha

Okay I may moan about him more than I should. But I am very glad I married this man of mine. I dated some complete bastards before I got together with my husband.  Some days I swear he needs a medal for putting up with me.

My Mum

I am lucky that I have such a fantastic relationship with my mum. I love her to bits, I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. And thats not just because she does so much for us.  She is an amazing lady, if I can be half as good as mum to Amelia as she is to me I’ll be over the moon.

My Sister

There is nearly seven years between me and my sister. So it is safe to say our relationship has had it’s ups and downs over the years.  In some ways we are like chalk and cheese. But I would not be without her and the laughs we have are great.  I really need to see more of her.

My Greyhound – Mikey

We have only had Mikey two years.  He was ex racer from Great Yarmouth Homefinders.  Sometimes greyhounds can take a time to relax into their new home.  Mikey decided he as happy with us within 24 hours.  He is just such a loving dog and such a character he can’t help but make you smile.

Christmas

My goodness how I love Christmas. It is my favourite time of the year by a long shot.  The whole atmosphere just makes me so happy.  I am one of these people who starts putting her tree and decorations up in November.  Tinsel don’t get me started on tinsel that still has to be draped everywhere, except not on the tree…. never must it be put on the tree.

Gin

Now don’t think I am drinking gin it all the time.  But gin is my tipple of choice.  I have my favourite brands but most gin is very tasty.  Plus it does not give me a hangover or make me argumentative. So what isn’t there to like.

Reading/Books

I love reading so much.  Normally I have three or more books on the go at any given time.  You can really end up with book hangovers. Also beginning completely knackered in the morning as I just wanted to read one more chapter.  It is never just one more chapter though, is it?

Sleep

How I love thee you make me so happy.  So why do we have to have so many fallings out.  Amelia has slept through the night for ages now.  She only wakes up if good forbid she is ill or has a bad nightmare.  Unfortunately my brain sometimes decides that at night it is at it’s problem solving best… it’s not.  But when my brain does let me sleep it makes me sooooo happy.

Travelling

I didn’t go on my first holiday until I was 26, so I was a bit of a late starter.  But I love to travel, getting to see different places, experience different cultures and eat a wide variety of food.  I love sharing it all with my family.  Next stop Portugal and I can’t wait.
